Before spending on another foundation sample I am trying to understand my undertone more carefully. The camera on my phone makes everything look warm in the kitchen and cool beside the window. So I am planning to use the same window and a plain neutral wall. I plan to hold a plain white sheet and a soft gray cloth near my face. I am trying not to overread one picture I will compare several shots taken within the same ten minutes. As a starting point, this skin undertone test camera made me remember that camera settings can influence the apparent tone. Then I hope to test samples along my jawline instead of matching my hand. For anyone who has done a similar check, which whether gray fabric is useful or just an unnecessary extra? I know a camera cannot replace seeing real skin in changing light, and I am not expecting a perfect answer from one home experiment. My goal is simply to make the next store visit less confusing. Keeping a short record of conditions should also help me recognize when a surprising result is probably caused by lighting rather than my actual coloring.
